Holiday Blues!

So, I am not going to lie to you, today is the first day I have felt like myself since coming back home from my holiday. I have had a severe case of holiday blues. Autumn’s slightly gloomy weather has returned and honestly, I am not quite ready for giving up sunshine just yet.

I have no reason why today my body decided ‘oh lets give Em some energy back’, but it did! My severe case of holiday blues is now slowly fading away I thought I would write a little post, to inspire myself to keep going when the search for sunshine seems to be in the all too distant future.

Stop looking at holiday pictures.

Banish the glorious holiday pictures for a few weeks. They will still be there when you feel slightly more like yourself- so close the image and go see if Kylie Jenner is pregnant? Cause we’re all as confused as to who? Where? Or even if we care?

Focus on something entirely different

I can’t tell you the amount of time that I have spent on Google searching new holiday destinations; sad but true. Any way, I digress, recently I have been looking for Christmas presents for my nearest and dearest. And surprisingly enough it has made me feel so much better about sitting at a desk rather than at a bar!

Christmas is slightly a strange one for our very small family, many of us work on Christmas day so we don’t really celebrate it traditionally. Whilst we don’t celebrate Christmas in the ‘normal‘ way we do love to give gifts- with my dad always buying the best. After an hour or two searching IWOFT, I have found quite a lot of little trinkets to give to those closet too me. Finding something my mum, dad or dog will love, really has made me smile a little more- even if I haven’t bought it yet.

If all else fails, be grumpy.

I and the people around me (I can’t apologise enough to Chloe!) know I have been so unbelievably grumpy in this past week. And I really have no clue as to why- other than the holiday blues. I really do miss being on holiday, there I said it. But I am excited to take the next steps in my future (Vom) and that means sitting at my desk and earning some pennies.

Feeling grumpy, mardy or what ever else you want to call it is only natural. Sometimes, you can’t beat them, so just ride the hormonal mess that you are until you feel a little more human. No one ever has any right to tell you how to feel and if they ever do, roll your eyes and carry on your mood.

I hope you enjoyed this slightly rambley, off topic blog post today. ‘Cause honestly, I have adored writing something and uploading it pretty much immediately.
